Meet Liz

Iron Spur Equine is founded and operated by Liz, a lifelong horsewoman based in Ravenna, Michigan. Years spent riding, hauling, and caring for horses in West Michigan taught her what every good horseman knows: a horse that feels good works better, tries harder, and stays sounder longer.

Liz is currently completing professional certification in equine massage and bodywork, with hands-on training in equine anatomy, muscle function, and massage technique. Iron Spur Equine opens for booking in fall 2026, once certification and insurance are complete.

How We Work

  • Mobile, barn-to-barn. We come to your horse, on your schedule, in the environment where they're most relaxed.
  • Trained and insured. Professional certification and liability insurance will be in place before the first paid session.
  • Team players. We work alongside your veterinarian, farrier, and trainer — never in place of them.
  • Straight talk. Honest recommendations about what bodywork can and can't do for your horse.

The Name

An iron spur is a working tool — simple, honest, and built to last. That's the standard this practice is built on: skilled hands, straightforward service, and care that holds up season after season.

A note on scope: Equine massage is complementary bodywork, not veterinary medicine. We don't diagnose, treat injury or illness, or prescribe — and we'll always tell you when what we're seeing is a question for your vet.
